1/24/2012 As our family grows older so do the wonderful blessings that come to us each day. Brandon is now 11. Abigail is almost 9. As a Christian wife and mother I have the wonderful blessing to serve my family to the best of my ability. I have been adding new pages to the blog as I have time and as it corresponds to our life at this time. May you be blessed as you read.

the master bedroom/bathroom slowly but surely will get remodeled....
So today I decided to start by painting the bathroom vanity cabinet a chocolate brown that we already had in the paint cabinet. so cost $0 time total about 1 hour. now it no longer looks so 1970s. pictures coming.
still to do in the master bath- remove wallpaper border, take out 1970's spindles, add a door, paint walls, paint trim, add over the toilet shelving for towels, and add hooks to wall to hang wet towels.
SOME DAY... we will replace the vanity counter and the toilet but they are usable so not right now.
ok so here is an after pic of the vanity

my beginning kitchen redo..
this is not a remodel but a reorganizing project. the way my kitchen is right now is not working for me effieicently so time to redo it while giving it a deep cleaning. since remodeling is not in the budget who knows how far i might take this once i get started.
1- the first step will be to empty 1 cabinet at a time and clean the inside and outside of it thoroughly.
2- as i empty a cabinet i am going to be honest with myself and purge anything that is not used from it.
3- decision- what would work best for this cabinet???if it means emptying an entire other cabinet and transferring its belongings there then so be it and then abviously that will be my 2nd cabinet. etc.
4- if there are items i use but not very regularly(like my candy making stuff) time to get a lidded bin for it and store it labeled elsewhere in the utility/pantry.
5- if there are items i want to move from the pantry to the cabinets now is the time.
6-remove all clutter from the counter to give more space.
7- use up food items where i can such as for snacks, make cookie dough and freeze it, etc...
8- Buy and put on new door hardware ;)
9- ENJOY MY NEWLY REORGANIZED KITCHEN!!!
10- use my new kitchen
p.s. After I complete this who knows I might just go ahead and decide to sand and paint the cabinets

I came up with this idea after finding similar items for over $20 where i already had fabric to make one sitting around waiting to be used. so you shall see the end result in pictures shortly.

my furniture slipcover make over...
YUCK! how the slips covers ALWAYS slipped!!!
In the living room i have these faux suede slipcovers and i really like them, except they are too big and slip and make the room look a mess. SO i am customizing them using my sewing expertise and making them look fitted. I will post pictures after i am finished of the before and after product.love seat pinned....
love seat all sewn up!!!
couch all sewn up
love them!!! now they stay in place no matter what and i can still take them off and wash them!!!!
